works fabrics research about
The question of the transformative potential of the second skin
of human and non-human beings, drives my artistic research.
With the approach of "Shapeshifting", I create a narrative that deviates
from a prevailing anthropocentric perspective. I face our changing environment with the approach of an anthropological investigation in the sense of the „relational perspective“ according to Tim Ingold. Based on this, I understand my own body in it’s thinking and acting as a point of reference in my artistic practice. My projects are a dialogue between theoretical and somatic research, in which I deal with ontological and eco-philosophical questions and an intuitive, aesthetic manual practice. Following the idea of kinship with more than human existence, I examine potential forms and embodiment of co-existence. The methodology of sensory ethnography and the dehierarchization of different forms of knowledge production are a particular interest of mine in the search of new, ancient and embodied solutions to navigate and form practices of cooperation and community in times of polycrisis.
